Founded by Laura, a lifelong dog lover with extensive experience handling and caring for dogs, the business provides professional, leisurely walks through the stunning moorland and woodland landscapes of the Wharfe Valley.

Rather than relying on typical urban routes, Wharfetails distinguishes itself by seeking out quieter, wilder spaces where dogs can genuinely enjoy their surroundings and receive proper stimulation. Walks take place across Ilkley Moor, Burley Moor, Otley Chevin, Danefield Woods, Askwith Moor, Stainburn and Blubberhouses – locations chosen specifically for their natural beauty and lower traffic areas, which reduces illness risks for the dogs.

The service caters to local dog owners who want more than a basic walk; these are hour-long excursions designed to tire out and mentally stimulate dogs whilst offering owners peace of mind. Laura treats every dog as if it were her own, respecting individual needs – including options for dogs who prefer not to be walked off-lead.
